Skalka near Trenčín - Žítková - Bojkovice - Luhačovice - Uherské Hradiště- Velehrad

The trail connects some of the oldest pilgrimage sites on the Moravian-Slovak border and takes us back to the time of medieval monasteries, when Christian thought was being formed.

Wisla (PL) - Jablunkov - Pustevny - Holy Hostýn - Zlín - Napajedla- Velehrad

The trail connects three large mountain ranges, i.e. Beskydy, Hostýn hills and Chřiby. Nature lovers will find something to their liking. Wandering along the ridges will bring beautiful views of the surroundings.

Levý Hradec - Praha - Havlíčkův Brod - Žďár nad Sázavou - Křtiny - Buchlov - Velehrad

Trasa spojuje unikátní poutní místa, hrady a zámky, památky UNESCO. Přivádí nás do doby středověkých klášterů a hradisek, kdy se formovalo křesťanské myšlení.

Hodonín - Mikulčice/Kopčany - Skalica - Strážnice - Bzenec - Osvětimany - Velehrad

The trail connects three historically known places - Kopčany, Mikulčice and Osvětimany - and takes us back to the time of the Great Moravian Empire, when Czech statehood was being formed.

Svatý Kopeček - Olomouc - Tovačov - Kojetín - Korměříž - Velehrad

Trasa spojuje významná arcibiskupská místa Svatý Kopeček, Olomouc, Kroměříž a Velehrad. Mimo to vede kolem poutního místa Dub nad Moravou, tovačovskými rybníky a krásným pohořím Chřiby.

Velehrad (CZ) - Rome (Italy)

The trail between Rome or Venice and Velehrad generally follows the old trade route called the Amber Road and passes through Austria and Italy in addition to the Czech Republic. The trail ends at the tomb of Saint Cyril in the Basilica of Saint Clement.

Why walk the trails of the Cyril and Methodius Route?

The long-distance trails of the Cyril and Methodius Route invite you to pilgrimage sites and archaeological sites that have contributed significantly to the development of Slavic culture. They are signposted in both directions and encourage wandering without borders, not only state borders.
